The three individuals featured below are close friends and students at Redwood High School in Marin County, California. Beyond their commitment to their studies, they share a deep commitment to serving their community and creating meaningful opportunities for those around them.
Rosstin Pouradib
About Rosstin:
Rosstin Pouradib is a co-founder of CHAIR whose commitment to accessibility comes from years of working directly with people in his community and seeing the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels included, supported, and valued. Through his work as a Special Olympics basketball coach, Rosstin has built meaningful relationships with athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities and gained a deeper understanding of the barriers that can prevent people from fully participating in their communities.
His involvement in disability advocacy, community outreach, and organizations supporting underserved communities has further shaped his belief that advocacy means more than raising awareness—it means taking action. Rosstin brings that perspective to CHAIR by helping turn community support into tangible resources and opportunities for individuals with disabilities. He is passionate about bringing people together around accessibility and believes that inclusion should not be something people have to fight to earn, but something every community actively creates.
Cole Sandrich
About Cole:
Cole is someone who leads with empathy, commitment, and a genuine desire to make a difference. While he doesn’t have cerebral palsy himself, his close friendship with JP gave him a firsthand understanding of the challenges people with disabilities can face. Instead of remaining on the sidelines, Cole chose to get involved. Known for his strong work ethic and willingness to step up whenever needed, he became an essential part of bringing the organization to life.
His passion for helping others—especially within the special education community—drives much of what he does. Whether it’s organizing events, raising awareness, or supporting individuals directly, Cole consistently looks for ways to contribute and make an impact. His role in founding the organization reflects not only his dedication as a friend, but also his belief that everyone deserves access to the resources and opportunities that can improve their everyday lives.
John Paul Acker
About John Paul (JP):
John Paul is someone who has never let circumstances define his limits. Growing up with cerebral palsy, he experienced firsthand the daily challenges that can come with mobility, independence, and access to the right support. Rather than letting those obstacles discourage him, they shaped his perspective and strengthened his determination. He became deeply aware of how something as simple as the right piece of equipment—a wheelchair, communication device, or adaptive tool—could dramatically improve someone’s quality of life.
This understanding is what inspired him to found his organization. He recognized that many people with disabilities don’t have easy access to the equipment they need, often due to high costs or limited resources. Wanting to make a tangible difference, he created a way to raise money and provide that support to others facing similar challenges. His work is driven not just by empathy, but by lived experience, making his mission both personal and powerful; helping others gain independence, confidence, and a better everyday life.
